Trained to think

with one comment

hmm...im drawing blanks here lol

In his fascinating little book “Screw It, Let’s Do It (Quick Read),” Richard Branson says:

I was trained to think for myself and get things done. It’s what the British as a nation used to believe in, but there are some kids today who seem to want everything handed down to them on a plate.

Some companies want CRM handed down to them on a plate and expect it to work. I wrote about it here, here, here and here. Half of CRM projects fail for a good reason.

RFPs, demos and conference calls are all subconscious tricks to shift the burden of thinking and getting things done onto someone else. One thing these companies have in common is what they don’t have – a champion in their ranks.

We at Relenta are really good at making software that changes the way people work. We’re not so good at hand-holding those who are resistant to change. The bitter irony is that these very people would benefit from using our software the most. If they overcome the initial hurdle of getting out of their comfort zone, that is.

I think we came up with a solution to this conundrum, and we believe everyone involved will be delighted. Watch this space for the announcement come New Year.

Happy 2013 everyone!
